Hazardous Waste Compaction Solutions Built for Safety and Compliance

Handling solid hazardous waste requires more than a standard compactor. KenBay's RotoPac HazPac and BlastPac are purpose-engineered to compact DOT-regulated materials safely, efficiently, and in full compliance — right at the source.

Hazardous waste management is one of the most regulated and risk-sensitive challenges in industrial operations.

The wrong equipment, or the wrong process, can expose workers to serious health risks, create environmental liability, and put facilities out of compliance with EPA, DOT, and OSHA requirements. At the same time, inefficient handling drives up disposal costs, increases the frequency of dangerous material movement, and consumes valuable floor space.

The more times hazardous waste is moved, handled, or transferred between containers, the greater the risk of worker exposure, spillage, and contamination. Many facilities rely on open bins or standard roll-offs that require frequent trips across the facility floor.

DOT packing group requirements for solid hazardous waste are specific and non-negotiable. Using a non-compliant compaction method or unapproved container type creates serious regulatory and legal exposure for the facility.

Some facilities — paint shops, chemical plants, and refineries among them — operate in environments where flammable gases, vapors, or combustible dusts may be present. Standard electrical equipment in these areas is a safety and code violation.

Hazardous waste disposal costs are significant — and when containers are filled with uncompacted material, facilities are essentially paying to transport air. Frequent pickups, high container volumes, and excessive labor all compound the cost.

Hazardous Waste Demands a Higher Standard of Equipment

The RotoPac HazPac is placed directly at the point of hazardous waste generation, compacting material immediately into sealed bulk bags or approved waste boxes. Fewer touchpoints means lower exposure risk for workers and a cleaner, safer facility floor.

It is specifically designed to handle all three DOT packing groups — I (great danger), II (medium danger), and III (minor danger) — compacting into DOT-approved bulk bags or tri-wall hazardous waste boxes. Compliance is built into the process, not bolted on afterward.

The RotoPac HazPac achieves 6:1 compaction ratios, putting six times the volume of waste into each approved container. Facilities routinely save more than $2,000 per month on disposal costs alone — while also reducing the frequency of regulated material movement across the facility.

Find The Right Compactor for Your Environment

Purpose-Built for Regulated, High-Risk Environments

The RotoPac™ HazPac Configured for the compaction of solid hazardous waste across DOT packing groups I, II, and III, the HazPac compacts directly into bulk bags or approved tri-wall waste boxes — with a small enough footprint to be placed at the point of generation, not across the facility.

A Partner That Understands Regulatory Standards

KenBay's hazardous waste solutions serve a wide range of industries where regulated solid waste is a daily operational reality:

industrial waste removal

  • Large paint shops — Navy facilities, aerospace manufacturers, and automotive finishing operations
  • Chemical plants — Facilities handling solvents, resins, and chemical byproducts
  • Battery manufacturers — High-volume solid hazardous waste generation requiring DOT-compliant packaging
  • Pharmaceutical facilities — Controlled substance disposal and regulated waste streams
  • Refineries and fuel handling operations — Flammable vapor environments requiring explosion-proof equipment
  • Military and government facilities — High-security environments with strict compliance requirements
