“When companies compact their waste right at the
source of its generation there are two immediate
benefits: first, it cleans up the worksite and
promotes hygiene and cleanliness, especially if wet
waste is combined with other waste; second, it saves
money by reducing labor and increasing dumpster
capacity.” Sharma Pillalamarri of the Bakery
Industry Technical & Management Advisor writes.
The most prominent application for the RotoPac in
the food industry is that of disposing of those
ubiquitous 50 lb. bags in which ingredients are
shipped. Bakeries, in particular, place the RotoPac
where these bags are emptied into it in the
production line, nearly eliminating all labor
necessary to remove the bags from the floor. In
other food processing plants, the RotoPac, located
at the start of the production process, compacts
corrugated boxes where meat and other ingredients
are received and in many cases the corrugate is
recycled for rebates.
