Enterprise
- This Central Pennsylvania communications company saves space
and increases productivity by placing the Clydesdale near their
saddle-stitcher, freeing-up employee time and improving the
cleanliness of their plant. Associate Publisher Paul Eyerly IV
is also concerned with environmental issues. “Because the
Clydesdale enables us to capture the recyclable material and resell
it, not only do we feel good about our efforts, but we have been
rewarded financially.”
Ward/Kraft Labels – Ward/Kraft makes pressure
sensitive material for labels, primarily for the pharmaceutical
industry. They blow the matrix material (trim of pressure sensitive
material) from two different AirTrim machines through plasma coasted
12” pipes into the Clydesdale. By spraying soap and water onto the
rotor, Wardkraft has eliminated having the glue-backed matrix
material from sticking to it. Usually about 750 lbs. of waste is
compacted in a bag for disposal. They have been using the KenBay
Clydesdale for over 5 years.
Statesman Journal – The Clydesdale replaced a complex baler system, and in
the process saved space, staff hours and money according to John
Witherspoon, distribution center manager.
“We placed the Clydesdale right on the floor by the
stitcher-trimmer, which allowed us to eliminate the considerable
length of the vacuum system that used to haul the waste to the baler
one floor up.” The compactor allowed the Statesman Journal to not
only minimize its waste but also permitted the newspaper to redirect
the efforts of one worker from waste recovery at the baler to more
productive work.
